It’s noticeably further from the city centre and near some unlit backstreets which makes me anxious walking alone at night. However, the accommodation itself is generally clean and safe.

maintenance can be intrusive as they come in regularly, but they do handle problems well once reported. The furniture is fresh and the facilities are good overall, although I feel the rent is a bit high for what you get

the Forge has strict rules and maintenance people coming into your room regularly, which can be annoying. The showers often switch between cold and very hot, and some bathrooms have mold issues. On the plus side, it feels cleaner than uni halls and is better quality overall.

The location is decent, close to shops and within walking distance of the university. There is a shuttle to campus, which helps. Social areas outside flats are well maintained and clean. Wifi is usually reliable but can be patchy sometimes.

I had to buy a mini fridge because the shared kitchen fridges are tiny. Some rooms have very small windows facing walls, which isn’t great. Despite these downsides, it’s a solid place to live and definitely better than most university halls.

Some aspects are inconvenient like the automated bathroom light turning off too quickly and small bedroom space. Also, the main entrance requires you to call reception to get in, which isn’t very practical. Laundry machines only accept coins which is a hassle.

The overall experience is okay. It’s not the worst place by any means, and some people really enjoy living here. The price is quite high for the size and condition of some rooms, but the facilities and support make up for some of it.
