New Medlock House is a student accommodation located at 25-45 Chester Street, Manchester, M15 6JX, UK. It's approximately a 15-minute walk to Manchester Metropolitan University and a 20-minute walk to the University of Manchester.
New Medlock House offers a variety of room types, including non-en-suite rooms, en-suite rooms, and studios. Each flat contains four or five study bedrooms, with a shared kitchen and open-plan lounge/dining area. Each room is furnished with a comfy small double bed, desk and chair, ample storage, and an en-suite toilet and shower. Residents can enjoy newly renovated communal facilities such as a common room, pool lounge, yoga studio, karaoke room, and study areas. The property also features a decked courtyard with seating.

January 23, 2025I don’t really get the hype with New Medlock after living here. Yes the social life is great but the value for money isn’t at all. It has a litany of problems and while tehere’s probably worse accommodations out there, this certainly isn’t near the best.

January 10, 2025lifts were down for maybe 75% of my stay. shocking! and i know others who also had same issue. u can complain all u want, they don’t do anything about it bc they know u need a place to live. no compensation, proper communication or anything

January 10, 2025If you want that classic uni looking accom, live here. Really social, there’s always pres on every night and really easy to meet new people. I think it’s like 700 students or something, not sure but its a massive accom

January 6, 2025The rooms are really modern and way nicer than the exterior makes it look. All of the furnishings in the rooms and communal areas seem quite new. The only downside is the single rooms are really small. Like really, really narrow.

January 4, 2025I was a bit skeptical at first bc Unite Students has a very mixed reputation but I’ve been really pleasantly surprised. There’s been a few issues but nothing major and the staff have been extremeley helpful. A really social accommodation so really easy to make friends if you don’t know anyone coming into uni! Would highly recommend!

December 21, 2024terrible accommodation, had multiple problems with rats and lifts were constantly broken. staff are nice but powerless to do much, unite students is a terrible company. do not live here!!

December 19, 2024My daughter moved in here this past fall and is enjoying her stay. The staff were very polite and informative when moving in. Everything seemed quite cleanly and upkept, the social areas and communal kitchen were quite nice.

December 12, 2024All around a reasonably priced accommodation for MMU. Just 5 min walk from city centre, great staff and nice common areas. I would say the accom is like all MMU students so if you go to UoM I probably wouldn’t choose this one. I think there were a few UoM students though if I recall.
